The League has been advised that some players in our teams have tested positive for COVID in the past couple of days.
We have advised both Lake Cowichan and Westshore that in the best interests of the League and in an attempt to mitigate the risk of spreading this virus further, the VIJHL COVID Committee and the VIJHL Executive have decided that the first regular season game scheduled for tomorrow (R001: Sept. 8/21) is CANCELLED and will be rescheduled.
Future games will be assessed on a day to day basis.
The names of the players and all health information is confidential.
Teams have been advised that it is strongly recommended that all they revert to their COVID-19 protocols that were put into place last fall (VIJHL Safety Plan) as there are many participants in our teams that are not from our Health District.
