VIJHL Championship Finals – Game 4 – March 31
Victoria 5 Campbell River 0
A three goal performance from Mateo Albinati capped off a perfect performance from the Victoria Cougars as they dominated the Campbell River Storm 5-0 and took a 3-1 Championship Final series stranglehold Sunday night at the Arch in Esquimalt.
The Cougars defence led by goaltender Owen Sikkes have kept the Storm off the scoresheet for over 125 minutes.
Since the Nanaimo series, the Victoria power play has found life, 2 extra man goals on Sunday, while the Campbell River power play has been non-existent in this series (0 for 21).
Kevan McBean and Nathan Ingram rounded out the Cougars scoring.
Sikkes and Ante Mustapic were the Game Stars.
Victoria could close out the series on Tuesday in Campbell River and capture their first VIJHL Championship since hosting the Cyclone Taylor Cup in 2016.
