Nanaimo 9 Kerry Park 2
Pairs of goals from newcomer Kane Law, who was named third star, and Nate Barclay sparked the Nanaimo Buccaneers to a 9-2 victory over the Kerry Park Islanders in Tuesday night VIJHL action at Kerry Park Arena.
Nanaimo (23-10-1 for 47 points, second in North Division) led 3-0 and 5-2 by periods, and had their other goals from first star Dreyton Hayward, Zach Spafford, Nate Hughes, Madden Cruickshank and Casey Rutland while Anton Palmquist stopped 15 shots to earn the win in goal.
Kerry Park (2-34, fifth in South) had tallies from second star Colby Robinson and Benjamin Stocks. Adam Ranger and Alex Doyer combined for 38 stops in the Islanders net.
