Congratulations to Graedy Hamilton on a great performance at the World Junior Championships 2023 in Halifax. Graedy excelled as he refereed in the tournament and was awarded the Bronze Medal game. The VIJHL is proud to see another VIJHL alumni official shine in the hockey world.
Graedy is 22 years old, a member of Cowichan Valley MHA, and an official in the VIJHL. He started officiating as a Level 1 in 2014. In 2017, he became a Level 3 official and skated the 2017 BC Cup, BC OPoE, and 2017 National Aboriginal Championship. In 2018, he became a Level 4 official and skated the 2018 Western U15 AAA Championships and 2018 Hockey Canada Western OPoE. In 2019, he became a level 5 official and skated the 2019 Hockey Canada Centralized OPoE, 2019 World U17 Championship, 2019 Canada Winter Games, and 2019 Cyclone Taylor Cup. He was also hired to the WHL in 2019. In 2021, he was hired to the AHL. In 2022, he skated the BCHL Championship, 2022 Gretzky Hlinka, and 2023 World Junior Championship.
