Lake Cowichan 3 Peninsula 5
Peninsula Panthers scored four straight goals, including two from first star Brendan Williams, to best the Lake Kowichan Kraken 5-3 in Saturday night VIJHL action in front of 138 fans at the Panorama Recreation Centre.
Second star Carson Harris, who also had an assist, Lukas Prewada and
Cole Sather also scored for Peninsula, who led 3-1 and 5-3 by periods while riding a 15 save performance from goalie Jacob Walsh to push their league-leading record to 34 points on a 16-1-2 record.
Carter Anderson had two goals and was named third star for the Kraken, who also had a tally from Kananga Mangala. Josh Hope and Ayden Fenske combined to make 35 saves for Lake Cowichan, which sits at 6-13-2.

Port Alberni 5 Westshore 4 (OT)
Third star Sean Richards goal at 3:45 of overtime – his third point of the night – lifted the Port Alberni Bombers to a 5-4 decision over the hometown Westshore Wolves in front of 105 fans at Juan de Fuca Arena.
First star Daniel Betcher had a hat trick to lead the Bombers, who also had a goal from John Shields as the visitors trailed 2-0 and 4-3 by periods. They received 33 saves from goalie Evan Grant to move to 14-5-2 in second place in the North Division.
Zion Lavoie had three goals and was named second star for Westshore, whose other goal came from Wyatt Taron. Dryden Demelo stopped 35 shots for the win as the Wolves bumped up to 31 points and second place at 14-2-2 in the South Division.

Kerry Park 5 Comox Valley 1
Jacob Morrison’s two goals helped the Kerry Park Islanders freeze the Comox Valley Glacier Kings 5-1 at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
First star Carson Brown, second star Finlay Klippenstein and Jobey Parson had single markers for the Islanders, now 13-4-1 for 28 points in third spot in the South Division, backed by a 27 save performance by third star Ethan Barron.
Rolan Amin had the lone goal for Comox Valley, with Aaron Pichette making 28 saves between the pipes. The Glacier Kings trailed 2-0 and 3-1 by periods and are now 7-12-2 on the season.
