Campbell River 3 Westshore 2
Campbell River Storm scored twice in the shootout to edge the Westshore Wolves 3-2 in double overtime at the Q Centre in Wednesday night VIJHL action.
Kaeden Serpa stopped 35 of 37 shots to earn first star honours in leading the Storm, who had goals from Ethan Hill and Logan Vigneault in the third period to send the game into overtime. Campbell River increased their lead atop the North division standings to five points with the victory.
Noah Gebicki’s first period marker gave Westshore a 1-0 lead after the first period, which they carried into the final stanza. Kansys Seney had the Wolves third period marker, and second star Parker Atkinson added two assists, with Westshore netminder Dryden Demelo blocking 34 shots in a third star effort.
Ethan Hill and Theo Landry scored for Campbell River in the shootout, with Kaden Ryan denting the twine for Westshore.

Peninsula 5 Saanich 4
Peninsula Panthers withstood a furious Saanich Predators comeback attempt to skate away with a 5-4 decision at George Pearkes Arena, as the Predators scored three goals in the last 10:34 of the final frame.
Peninsula led 2-1 and 3-1 by periods, and were led by two goals from Alex Sajan, with second star Brendan Williams adding a goal and three assists, and Ethan Lingard and Carson Harris chipping in single markers. Third star Joe Marranzino had three assists, and goalie Merik Grinaker made 28 saves in the Panthers cage. Peninsula hasn’t lost in regulation yet this season, and leads the South division standings.
Jake Westhaver had three goals and an assist and was named first star for Saanich, with Nick Scott also tallying. Goaltender Ty Tanton stopped 37 shots between the Predators pipes.
