Port Alberni 1 Comox Valley 2
Aaron Pichette was sensational in stopping 46 of 47 shots to help the Comox Valley Glacier Kings freeze the Port Alberni Bombers 2-1 in Friday night VIJHL action at the Comox Valley Sports Center.
Pichette was named the game’s first star and Preston Muxlow, who scored the eventual game winner in the second period, was second star for the Glacier Kings, who led 2-1 after the second, with the first stanza ending in a scoreless tie. Both Comox Valley goals came on breakaways.
Leim Smith was the lone marksman for the Bombers, who had 23 saves from goalie Evan Grant and had Jackson Bostock as the third star.

Lake Cowichan 2 at Kerry Park 4
Kerry Park Islanders scored the first two and the last two goals of the game while sinking the Lake Cowichan Kraken 4-2 at the Kerry Park Arena.
First star Jacob Morrison and Rylan Davis put the Islanders ahead 2-0 before Laroslav Morozov and Benjamin Bertrand tallied for the Kraken to tie the game. Bruce Kohler, with the eventual game winner in the second period, and Colby Robinson into an open net finished off the scoring for Kerry Park, which led 2-1 and 3-2 by periods.
Tanner Ferrill stopped 42 shots in the Kraken cage and was named the second star of the contest, while Ethan Barron blocked 14 pucks for the Islanders, who also received a third star performance from Max Carlson.

Campbell River 7 Oceanside 1
Campbell River Storm had goals from seven different players and marched to a 7-1 victory over the host Oceanside Generals before 465 spectators at Oceanside Place.
First star Jan-Felix Faupel, Jacob Kulas, Sheldon Alexander, Beckett Trado, Ludovick Filion, Koehn Obuck and Billy Snyder were the scorers for the Storm, who led 1-0 and 5-0 by periods and received 33 saves from netminder Kaeden Serpa, the game’s third star.
Second star Billy Snyder broke the shutout for the Generals, who received 50 saves from goalie Hunter Farrer.
