Second star Owen Ditzel’s goal at 13:47 of the third period gave the Port Alberni Bombers a 4-3 victory over the Comox Valley Glacier Kings and a first round sweep of their best-of-seven VIJHL North Division semi-final playoff series in front of 369 fans Tuesday night at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
First star Leim Smith, Kai Verbrugge and Sean Richards had the other goals for the Bombers, who led 3-2 heading into the third period following a 2-2 first period tie. Evan Grant stopped 31 pucks for the win.
Third star Austin Montgomery-Parsons, Sheldon Alexander and Gavin Mowat had the Yeti tallies, with goalie Luca Vanzo blocking 28 shots on the night.
Port Alberni will face the Campbell River Storm in the North Division final.

Victoria 3 Kerry Park 7
Kerry Park jumped out early and cruised to a 7-3 win over the visiting Victoria Cougars to take a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven South Division semi-final as 254 watched at Kerry Park Arena, as the Islanders have now come back from a 2-0 series deficit and can wrap up the series Thursday night in Victoria.
First star Brody Lindal, Colby Robinson and Carson Brown each fired two goals, and Bryce Burnett one to power the Islanders, who led 3-1 and 5-1 by periods. Second star Cage Starr and third star Raydon Parkes each had two assists, and Noah Stenvig made 36 saves in the Kerry Park net.
Tarik Borhot, Jacob Bernardo and Kelton Shinde had the Cougars goals, with Jesse Pye making 33 saves in the contest for Victoria.
