Ryder Lally came up with 33 saves to earn first star honours and two goals from second star Anthony Wilson enabled the host Victoria Cougars to double the Kerry Park Islanders 4-2 and take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven VIJHL South Division playoff semi-final in front of 325 fans at Archie Browning Arena.
Victoria never trailed in the contest, leading 1-0 and 2-1 by periods over the VIJHL regular season and South Division champions, and had their other goals from Joseph Melichar and Elijah Kim into an empty net in the last minute.
Brody Lindal and Eric Stinson scored for the Islanders, with defenseman Max Carlson adding an assist in a third star performance. Ethan Taylor made 22 saves in the Kerry Park net.

Campbell River 4 Lake Cowichan 3 (OT)
Logan Vignault scored at 1:13 of overtime to give the visiting Campbell River Storm a 4-3 win over the Lake Cowichan Kraken to take a 2-0 lead in their North Division semi-final.
First star Maximilian Oswald scored twice in the second period for the Storm and Marshall Curri pushed the game to overtime with a goal 36 seconds from full time, while third star, goalie Kaeden Serpa, made 29 saves for Campbell River.
Luke Bennett, Aleksander Leonelli and Laroslav Morosov scored for Lake Cowichan, which had 28 stops from netminder Tanner Ferrill.
