Port Alberni 4 Victoria 2
Port Alberni Bombers scored the last three goals of the game to double the hometown Victoria Cougars 4-2 in Sunday VIJHL action in front of 167 fans at Archie Browning Arena.
Kash Nicklin, Daniel Betcher, Sean Richards and Leim Smith were the goal scorers for the Bombers, who moved to 11-5-2 and 24 points to solidify their hold on second spot in the North Division. Netminder Tom Forrest made 30 saves, and first star of the game was Port Alberni’s Luke Ridgway who had three assists, as Port Alberni led 1-0 after the first period and the teams were tied 1-1 after two frames.
Second star Kelton Shinde and Kyler Smith had the goals for Victoria, with Cougars’ Tyler Delli-Carri named third star, as Jesse Pye made 29 stops in goal for Victoria, which stands at 7-8-2.

Campbell River 4 Nanaimo 2
Campbell River Storm scored four straight goals, including two from second star Kai Williams, as they doubled their hosts, Nanaimo Buccaneers, 4-2 before 155 patrons at Nanaimo Ice Centre.
Koehn Obuck and Marshall Curri were the other goal scorers for the Storm, which received an outstanding performance from goaltender Kaeden Serpa, who stopped 41 shots in the contest. One barrage saw him block then catch two point-blank shots in the second period. Campbell River, now with 27 points and alone in first place in the North with a 13-4-1 record, led 2-1 and 4-2 by periods.
Third star Brody Lindal had two goals and first star Zackael Mongeon added two assists for Nanaimo, which received 26 saves from goalie Tristin Stephens. The Bucs are in third spot in the North and sit at 9-5 for 18 points.
