Westshore Wolves scored three unassisted goals in the third period to overcome a 1-0 deficit and take a 3-2 decision over the Peninsula Panthers to knot the best-of-seven South Division semi-final 1-1 series in Wednesday night VIJHL playoff action before 206 fans at the Q Centre.
First star Levente Birta, Alejandro Snead and Wyatt Taron had the Wolves markers and third star Dryden Demelo made 27 saves to earn the win in goal.
Ethan Lingard and Alex Sajan, both with a goal and assist, led the Panthers, who had 20 stops from second star Hunter Farrrer.
Comox Valley 0 Port Alberni 4
A trio of second period goals lifted the Port Alberni Bombers to a 4-0 whitewash of the Comox Valley Glacier Kings in front of 328 spectators at the Alberni Valley Multiplex in the opener of their North Division semi-final.
Second star Grayson Salmon, Leim Smith, Kenneth Boychuk and Kash Nicklin had the Bombers tallies, with Sean Richards taking first star honours with a pair of assists and third star Owen Ditzel adding one helper. Evan Grant stopped all 15 shots he faced to earn the shutout.
Aaron Pichette stopped 35 pucks in the Glacier Kings cage.
