Second star Anthony Wilson scored at 8:34 of overtime to give the Victoria Cougars a 3-2 decision over the Westshore Wolves in front of 245 fans at Archie Browning Arena in Thursday night VIJHL action.
Victoria (18-14-5) was led by netminder Ryder Lally, who stopped 49 shots on the night and was named first star, and had their other goals from Brandon Smith as the Cougars led 2-1 after the second following a scoreless first frame.
Westshore (24-9-5-1) markers came from Parker Atkinson and third star Kaden Ryan, and goalie Dryden Demelo blocked 32 pucks in the Wolves lair.

Saanich 3 Nanaimo 7
Four straight second period goals powered the Nanaimo Buccaneers to a 7-3 victory over the visiting Saanich Predators before 135 spectators at Nanaimo Ice Center.
Scoring for Nanaimo (14-20-2-2) were Casey Rutland with a pair and singles from Preston Muxlow, Jaxin Karst, Bodie Coburn, Marcus Dumas and third star Clay Spencer. After a 1-1 first period draw, Nanaimo led 5-2 after the sandwich frame. Newcomer Elias Schellander was named the game’s first star and had an assist, with Elias Byrtus adding two assists to earn second star honours. Parker Ambury stopped 16 shots for the victory in the Buccaneers net.
Isaiah Idisi, Matt Kerr and Conall Hill tallied for the Predators, who had Ty Tanton and William Rose combine for 30 saves in goal for Saanich (10-25-3).
