Peninsula 4 Saanich 1
First star Ethan Hoffman scored twice in the first period, including the eventual winning goal, as the visiting Peninsula Panthers clawed out a 4-1 victory over the Saanich Predators in front of 145 spectators at George Pearkes Arena in Friday night VIJHL play.
Peninsula (33-11-2-1) has 69 points, solid in second place in the South Division, and led 2-0 and 4-1 by periods, with their other markers coming from Brendan Williams and Clayton Collier. Third star Malcolm Fletcher chipped in two assists and goalie Jacob Walsh made 18 saves for the win in goal.
Saanich (11-31-5) had a fine 50 save effort by second star William Rose in net, and had their goal come from Clayton Collier, and they will finish fifth in the South.

Nanaimo 2 Campbell River 4
Logan Vigneault fired two goals and was name first star as the Campbell River Storm doubled the Nanaimo Buccaneers 4-2 before 672 fans at Rod Brind’Amour Arena.
Second star Wyatt Dumont and third star Dominic Grieco had the other goals for the Storm, which held 2-0 and 3-2 period leads and had 26 saves from netminder Kaeden Serpa.
Campbell River (30-12-5) is one point back of Port Alberni with one game remaining, and a victory would give them top spot in the North Division.
Nanaimo (16-26-4-2) had goals from Clayton Spencer and Jaxin Karst, with goalies Tristin Stephens and Darian Feser combining to make 40 saves.

Port Alberni 3 Lake Cowichan 0
First star Tom Forrest blocked all 31 shots he faced as the Port Alberni Bombers blanked the host Lake Cowichan Kraken 3-0 at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena.
Second star Leim Smith, third star Kai Verbrugge and Kenneth Boychuk had the goals for the Bombers, which completed their regular season and at 31-13-4 for 66 points, and holds a one point lead over second place Campbell River, with the Storm having one more game to play. A victory would give the Storm first place in the North Division.
Lake Cowichan (19-24-3-1) has 42 points, one back of third place Comox Valley, with each team having one game remaining. Ethan Barron has 28 saves in the Kraken cage.

Kerry Park 0 Westshore 6
First star Zion Lavoie had two goals, second star Zackael Mongeon one and third star, goalie Dryden Demelo, shared a 32 save shutout with James Hall as the Westshore Wolves shut out the Kerry Park Islanders at Juan de Fuca Arena.
Kian Williams, Jareden Kurvers and Yihwan Joo had the other goals for the Wolves, which led 2-0 and 5-0 by periods, and at 28-12-6-1, they will finish in third place with 63 points and will face Peninsula in the first round of the playoffs.
Kerry Park (36-6-3-1) has won the VIJHL and South Division title with 76 points and had Noah Stenvig and Ethan Taylor combine for 19 saves in net.

The regular season concludes Saturday night, and three games will decide first round playoff positions in the North, as fourth place Lake Cowichan travels to Parksville to take on the Oceanside Generals, third place Comox Valley Glacier Kings hosts the Saanich Predators, and the second place Campbell River Storm visits the Peninsula Panthers. In the other game, Victoria Cougars visits the Kerry Park Islanders.
