A four goal third period outburst gave the Peninsula Panthers a 4-2 win over the host Victoria Cougars in front of 280 fans at Archie Browning Arena in Thursday night VIJHL action.
First star Jacob Caron, Carson Harris, Paco Hodgson and Brendan Williams into an empty net scored the goals for the Panthers, who had 17 saves from goalkeeper Merik Grinaker as Peninsula boosted their record to 18-1-2 for 38 points to top the South Division and the entire VIJHL.
Second star Carter Crabb and Kelton Shinde were the marksmen for Victoria, which led 2-0 after the first and second periods and received a third star effort from goalie Lane Maarhuis with 32 saves as the club is now 9-10-4 on the season.
