Beckett Trado’s unassisted goal 1:06 into the second overtime period gave the Campbell River Storm a 3-2 win over the Port Alberni Bombers and a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven VIJHL North Division playoff final series in front of 463 fans at the Alberni Valley Multiplex Sunday night.
First star Kaeden Serpa stopped 51 shots for the Storm, and Jan-Felix Faupel scored for Campbell River in the first period and Marshall Curri in the third to tie the game on a power play as Port Alberni served a penalty for too many men on the ice.
Third star Leim Smith and Luke Ridgway had the Port Alberni goals and second star Evan Grant made 40 saves in the Bombers net.
Game five of the series is set for Tuesday night in Campbell River. Monday night, Peninsula can close out the South Division final series at home against the Kerry Park Islanders as the Panthers hold a 3-0 lead in the series.
