Kerry Park Islanders had goals from seven different players and never trailed while taking a 7-3 decision over the Victoria Cougars in Thursday night VIJHL action at Archie Browning Arena.
Kerry Park, 26-6-3-1 for 56 points crept to within three of South Division leading Peninsula Panthers with the victory, leading 2-1 and 4-3 by periods before pulling away in the third. Islanders markers came from second star Eric Stinson, Jacob Morrison, Benjamin Stocks, Carson Brown, Justin Pichor, Brody Lindal and Flip Nyberg, and Noah Stenvig blocked 18 shots to pick up the win in goal.
Victoria (17-14-5) had a standout first star performance from netminder Lane Maarhuis who had 32 saves, and their goals came from third star Anthony Wilson, Brandon Smith and Mathieu Sauve.

Lake Cowichan 3 Nanaimo 2
A third period goal from Bevyn Wiliams gave the visiting Lake Cowichan a 3-2 win over Nanaimo in front of 170 fans at the Nanaimo Ice Centre, pushing the Kraken (15-20-2-1) into a tie for third place with the Comox Valley Glacier Kings in the North Division, four points up on the Buccaneers (13-20-1-2).
Second star Luke Bennett and Brady Croft had the other tallies for Lake Cowichan, which led 2-1 heading into the third period after the first frame ended in a 1-1 deadlock. Tanner Ferrill was solid with 44 saves in the Kraken cage.
First star Casey Rutland had both Buccaneers goals, with Bostyn MacDonald assisting on both to earn third star honours. Parker Ambury stopped 33 pucks in the Nanaimo net.
