Port Alberni Bombers never trailed while taking down the host Campbell River 5-2 and cutting the Storm’s lead in their best-of-seven VIJHL North Division final playoff series to 2-1 Friday night in front of 1,070 fans at Rod Brind’Amour Arena.
Sean Richards scored twice and Jack Barrett, Luke Ridgway and Kenneth Boychuk once each, with second star Beckett Trado adding three assists for the Bombers, who led 3-1 and 4-2 by periods and received 26 saves from netminder Evan Grant.
Third star Jacob Kulas and Dominic Grieco scored single markers and second star Beckett Trado added two assists for Campbell River, with Kaeden Serpa stopping 26 shots in the Storm goal.
Game four of the series goes Sunday in Port Alberni

First star Carson Harris had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Peninsula Panthers to a 7-1 victory over the Kerry Park Islanders as 315 spectators looked on at Panorama Recreation Centre.
Second star Lucas Ananias had two goals and two assists, with Oskar Aitken Salmons and Ethan Lingard on a second period breakaway adding single tallies for the Panthers, with third star Jacob Eddy adding three assists. Peninsula led 4-0 and 6-1 by periods, and received standout goaltending from Hunter Farrer, including a diving save and a splashy toe save in the second period amongst his 33 saves.
Colby Robinson on a deflection was the lone Islanders scorer, with Noah Stenvig and Carter Puska combining for 26 stops in the Kerry Park net.
Peninsula leads the series 2-0 with game three Saturday night in Kerry Park.
