Saanich 1 Westshore 9
Westshore Wolves came out firing with six first period goals and coasted to a 9-1 win over the Saanich Predators in front of 128 spectators at the Q Centre in Wednesday night VIJHL play.
First star Parker Atkinson had two goals and two assists to lead the Wolves, who also had two tallies from Liam Donovan and singles from second star Linden Hoskins, third star Zackael Mongeon, Zion Lavoie, Noah Gebicki and Keagan Dyer while holding 6-0 and 8-0 period leads.
James Hall stopped 29 shots in the net for Westshore (26-12-5-1), which now has 58 points, solidly in third place in the South Division.
Wade Enger had the lone goal for Saanich (10-31-3), won’t make the playoffs. William Rose had 30 stops in the Predators goal.

Campbell River 2 Port Alberni 3
Port Alberni kept their mathematical chances alive for catching Campbell River atop the North Division as the Bombers edged the visiting Storm 3-2 with 278 fans watching at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
Port Alberni is 26-13-4 for 56 points, seven behind Campbell River with five games left in the regular season, as the Storm (29-10-5) has 63 points and four games remaining.
First star Leim Smith, second star Sean Richards and Zach Spafford scored for the Bombers, who trailed 1-0 after the first and entered the third frame tied 1-1.
Third star Wyatt Doumont and Jan-Felix Faupel had the Storm goals against goalie Evan Grant, who finished with 27 saves. Kaeden Serpa blocked 35 in the Campbell River cage.
