Lake Cowichan 8 Nanaimo 3
First star Emerson de Giacomo had two goals and an assist to help the Lake Cowichan Kraken swamp the Nanaimo Buccaneers 8-3 in Thursday night VIJHL action at Nanaimo Ice Centre.
Luke Bennett, Colby Jeffries, Bevin Williams, Charles Fleming, Nicolas Kalinocka and Ryken Lay were the other marksmen for the Kraken, who led 4-1 after the second period, following a 1-1 first period tie. Aleksander Leonelli had three assists for Lake Cowichan and was named third star, with Tanner Ferrill picking up the win between the pipes with 24 saves.
Second star Baden Pazdzierski, Brody Lindal and Dylan Hoskins scored the Bucs goals, with Darian Feser making 29 stops in the Nanaimo net.

Kerry Park 5 Victoria 4 (OT)
Jobey Pearson’s second goal of the game at 7:41 of overtime lifted the Kerry Park Islanders to a 5-4 victory over the Victoria Cougars at Archie Browning Arena.
The teams were tied 2-2 and 4-4 after periods, with Kerry Park’s other goals coming from first star Jacob Morrison, who potted three goals and an assist. Pearson added two helpers to make it a four-point night and was named third star of the contest, helping Ethan Barron post the win with 37 saves in the Islanders net.
Second star Anthony Wilson with two goals, Cole Patterson and Jussi Saarni were the Victoria scorers, and the Cougars had 27 saves from Lane Maarhuis.
