First star Kaeden Serpa stopped all 32 shots he faced in the Campbell River net and second star Jan-Felix Faupel scored with 2:14 left in the third period to lead the Storm to a 2-0 win over the Peninsula Panthers in game five of the VIJHL playoff final in front of 297 fans at Rod Panorama Recreation Centre Tuesday night.
The teams were scoreless for the first two periods, and Campbell River’s Dreaden Bear scored a late empty net goal to ice the win with 29 seconds left.
Third star Hunter Farrer made 27 saves between in the Panthers net.
Game six is Wednesday night in Campbell River, which after trailing the series 2-0, has stormed back to take a 3-2 lead and can win the championship with one more victory.
