As there have been 2 Public Health Officer (PHO) orders come out in the last couple of weeks that impact the VIJHL, all teams have been requested to comply with the Mandatory Masks in indoor public spaces and the Mandatory Vaccine orders.
As of Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, masks must be worn in all indoor public spaces throughout B.C. to help slow the transmission of COVID-19 as B.C. prepares for the fall and respiratory illness season.
By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of vaccination is required to access some events, services and businesses. Starting September 13, you must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. By October 24, you must be fully vaccinated. Both of these orders apply to everyone in this League: players, team staff, volunteers, executives, etc. and will apply to all spectators at VIJHL games as well. It will be the responsibility of the facility to ensure that everyone is complying.
