Saanich 2 Westshore 6
Westshore Warriors overcame a 2-0 second period deficit with six straight goals to catch the Saanich Predators from behind 6-2 in Sunday VIJHL action in front of 221 fans at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre.
Second star Parker Atkinson had a goal and two assists to lead the Wolves, with other goals coming from Alejandro Snead, Rowan Brodie-Rafuse, Kansys Seney, Kaden Ryan and Jackson Buie. Netminder James Hall kicked out 22 shots and was named the first star of the contest, which was scoreless after the first period and tied 2-2 after 40 minutes before Westshore scored four goals in the final frame to lull away.
Elijah Kim scored both goals for Saanich, who had goalie Jacob Walsh stop 27 pucks to earn third star honours.
