Oct. 11: Bombers Net Shootout Victory Over Glacier Kings

Joseph Naccarato let in just one of 60 shots and none in the shootout in a first star performance that allowed the Port Alberni Bombers to edge the Comox Valley Glacier Kings 2-1 in Saturday night VIJHL action at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.

Joel Dorn was the only scorer in the shootout, as McCall Nault opened the scoring in the first minute of the game for the Bombers, who led 1-0 after both the first and second periods.

Cameron Collins scored the lone Glacier Kings goal late in the third period and was named second star, with netminder Timothee Fengos taking third star honours with 36 saves.

Kerry Park 2 Oceanside 5

Oceanside Generals posted a 3-0 first period lead and pulled away with a pair of goals late in the third period to down the Kerry Park Islanders as 426 fans watched at Oceanside Place.

Second star Ryder Bradford scored twice for the Generals, with single markers coming from first star Kaiden Day, Braylon Becker and Jacob Leamy, with Andreas Bylerius earning the win in goal with 22 stops.

Third star Colby Robinson and Hudson Closson scored for the Islanders, as goalie Josh Dubreuil blocked 32 shots in the Kerry Park net.

Third place Oceanside kept pace in the North Division with 12 points on a 6-5 record, one back of Port Alberni with 13 points but with two games in hand.
