Port Alberni 2 Westshore 6
Westshore Wolves lept to a 4-0 lead over the first two periods to knock off the Port Alberni Bombers 6-2 in Wednesday night VIJHL play at The Q Centre.
First star Alejandro Snead scored twice and Linkin Niedoba, Noah Gebicki, Parker Atkinsonand Kansys Seney once each, with Linden Hoskins chipping in two assists to earn third star honours for Westshore. Ander Reyes stopped 23 shots for the win between the pipes for the Wolves, who led 3-0 after the first period.
Westshore leads the South Division with 15 points in 9 games, and Atkinson is the VIJHL’s leading scorer with 22 points.
Second star Malik Oliva had both goals for the Bombers, who received 35 saves from netminder Joseph Naccarato.
