Lake Cowichan 1 Victoria 5
A trio of first period goals got the Victoria Cougars rolling towards 4-1 victory over the visiting Lake Cowichan Kraken at Archie Browning Arena.
First star Ben Wetterberg, second star Grady Slugget, James Clarke, Caydan Arsenault and Austin Ralph tallied for the Cougars (17-6-2), who led 3-0 after the first and second frames. Jesse Pye made 30 saves to earn the win and was named third star.
Toby Johnson scored for Lake Cowichan (7-15-0-1). Evgeni Tkachenko finished with 29 stops in the Kraken cage.
