A hat trick from first star Hunter Yanick pushed the Nanaimo Buccaneers to a 5-2 victory over the Comox Valley Glacier Kings to tie their VIJHL North Division final at two games apiece Wednesday night at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
Nanaimo never trailed, holding period leads of 2-0 and 5-2, with their other goals coming from Boston Cripps and Kai Verbrugge, with second star Curtis Freeman adding three helpers and third star Rhys Wilcox two. Netminder Aaron Pichette picked up the win with 33 saves.
Landen May and Elias Haukeness had the Glacier Kings goals, with goalie Ander Reyes stopping an amazing 51 shots on the night.
Visiting teams have won every game of the series, with game five set for Friday night in Nanaimo.
