A pair of goals from first star Kelton Shinde, including a second period penalty shot, and second star Finn Wilson blocked all 25 shots he faced to propel the Victoria Cougars to a 4-0 shutout of the Saanich Predators in VIJHL play Tuesday night at George Pearkes Arena.
Victoria (27-8-3 for 57 points) climbed over the Westshore Wolves by one point into second place in the South Division with the win, while holding 1-0 and 3-0 period leads. Ben Wetterberg and Jordan Ramsay had the other goals for the Cougars.
Saanich (7-30-1 for 15 points, fourth in South), as goalie George Jantz was busy, blocking 45 pucks in the contest and earning third star honours.
