Comox Valley 4 Kerry Park 3
First star Leon Mikhalchuk’s goal with 1:42 remaining in the third period gave the Comox Valley Glacier Kings a 4-3 win over the Kerry Park Islanders in the lone Saturday night VIJHL game played in front of 98 fans at Kerry Park Arena.
Comox Valley (18-14-4-1 for 41 points, third in the North Division) led 2-0 after the first period but Kerry Park (2-33, fifth in the South Division) stormed back with three second period goals to led 3-2 with 20 minutes to go.
Third star Easton Sangris had a goal and two assists, with the Glacier Kings’ other markers coming from Quinten Harvie and Cameron Collins. Luca Vanzo stopped 13 shots in the Yetis net.
Benjamin Stocks, Christophe Giguere and Colby Robinson scored for the Islanders and Tate Wilkinson earned second star honours, while goalie Alex Doyer finished with 41 saves.
