Oceanside 2 Westshore 9
A pair of goals in the first period, three in the second and four in the third propelled the Westshore Wolves to a 9-2 pasting of the Oceanside Generals in Wednesday night VIJHL action at The Q Centre.
A pair of goals from first star Elijah Kim led the way for Westshore (34-9-4 for 72 points, third in the South Division), which had singles from second star Alejandro Snead, third star Trace Anderson, Jasper Fellbaum, Sam Spring, Nick Scott, Tyson Schamehorn and Xavier Barthe. Owen Bonthuis finished with 23 saves to earn the win in net.
Oceanside (27-19-1 for 55 points, second in the North) had goals from Reid Ronning and Logan Duncan, and 33 combined saves from goalies Ethan Suhr and Levi Hollatz.
Both teams have one game remaining in the regular season Westshore plays Victoria Cougars in the first round of the South Division playoffs, while Oceanside takes on Comox Valley Glacier Kings in the North.
