First star Finn Wilson stopped all 36 shots he faced to earn the shutout as the Victoria Cougars blanked the Peninsula Panthers 3-0 in Monday night VIJHL action in front of 158 fans at Panorama Recreation Centre.
Second star Jordan Ramsay scored twice and third star Joseph Melichar once as the Cougars led 2-0 after the second period, following a scoreless first frame.
With the win, Victoria moved to 36-8-3 for 75 points, only two back of South Division champion Peninsula (37-7-3 for 77 points), but the Panthers hold the tie-breaker if they end up tied after both teams play their last game of the season.
