Campbell River 4 Nanaimo 5 (OT)
First star Nate Barclay scored three goals, including the tying goal midway through the period and the winner at 1:55 of overtime to lead the Nanaimo Buccaneers to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Campbell River Storm in Sunday VIJHL play in front of 220 fans at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
Nanaimo (32-12-2 for 66 points, first in North) led 3-2 after the first period but trailed 4-3 heading into the third, and their other goals came from Zach Spafford and Conall Hill. Backstop Aaron Pichette stopped 15 shots to record the win and Madden Cruickshank had two assists and was named third star.
Campbell River (25-19-2 for 52 points, fourth in North) received two goals and an assist from second star Elliott Turgeon and singles from Thomas Curri and Won Hyeong Choi, and William Talbot finished with 38 saves in the Storm net.
