Port Alberni 7 Victoria 9
Victoria Cougars scored the last two goals to end up on top of a wild 9-7 victory over the Port Alberni Bombers in Thursday night VIJHL play at Archie Browning Arena.
Victoria (34-8-3 for 71 points, third in the South Division) had two goals and an assist by second star Luke Reinhart, two from Simon Semancik and their one each from Joseph Melichar, Jordan Ramsay, Ethan Davey, Aden Glenn and Carter Zeeben. Third star Kelton Shinde had three assists, and goalies Jesse Pye and Finn Wilson combined to make 15 saves.
First star Eduard Mishikov scored four goals to lead Port Alberni (16-27-3 for 35 points, fifth in North), which led 4-3 and 6-5 by periods, and had their other markers from McCall Nault, Quinn Bouchard and Jeremy Gould. Netminder Xavier Han stopped 43 shots.
