Dec. 8, 2025 – Players selected for the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) North and South Division teams participating in the Jan. 16-17, 2026 All-Star & Prospect event in Spruce Grove, Alberta in conjunction with the BC Hockey League (BCHL) have been announced.
A total of 66 players will be participating from the VIJHL – 33 from each Division. South leading Peninsula Panthers will be sending 10 players, the Victoria Cougars and Westshore Wolves sending 9 each, and Saanich Predators 3 and Kerry Park Islanders 2. Oceanside Generals, which leads the North, will have 7 participants, with the Nanaimo Buccaneers and Port Alberni Bombers sending 6 each, Campbell River Storm and Comox Valley Glacier Kings 5 apiece and Lake Cowichan Kraken 4.
Besides the All-Star and Prospects games, the North and South Division players will compete in a VIJHL Skills Competition this year, featuring fastest skater, hardest shot, and other events.
Garrett Dunlop of Oceanside will coach the North team, with assistant coach Tyler Gow of the Nanaimo. Grayson Vickers of Peninsula will be behind the South bench along with Mike Nesbitt of Westshore.
