Lake Cowichan Kraken rode a 3-1 first period lead to a 5-2 win over the Saanich Predators in Sunday VIJHL play at George Pearkes Arena.
Evgeni Tkachenko was named first star with a 22 save effort, and goals by third star Jaxon Woodward, Toby Johnson, Addison Bradley, Kieran Prichett and Logan Walz into an empty net powered the Kraken (8-17-0-1), which led 3-1 and 4-1 by periods. Blaine Wilson added two assists and received second star honours.
Konrad Lorincz and Von Parsons had the goals for Saanich (6-21), with George Jantz finishing with 27 stops between the Predators pipes.
