Three second period goals enabled the Comox Valley Glacier Kings to cool the Port Alberni Bombers 4-2 in Wednesday night VIJHL play in front of 347 fans at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
First star Leon Mikhalchuk, Westin Churchill, Sheldon Alexander and Elias Haukeness scored the goals for Comox Valley (14-13-2-1 for 31 points), which opened the scoring in a 1-1 first period and came back from a 2-1 second period deficit to lead 4-2 after the second. Netminder Anthony Ganoung had 36 saves to earn third star honours.
Marik Oliva and Kash Nicklin had the tallies for Port Alberni (11-17-2 for 24 points), with Joel Dorn named third star as he added an assist. Joseph Naccarato had 23 saves in the Bombers goal.
