BUCCANEERS OUT IN THE COMMUNITY

The Nanaimo Buccaneers were out in the community on Sunday supporting the 35th annual Silly Boat Regatta event in Nanaimo. This event is held annually and all the money collected goes to support Nanaimo Child Development Centre.

This year the Buccaneers were asked to run the dunk tank. It was a lot of fun; below is a video of Ben Coghlan getting dunked. Eight players came out to help with the event. Our thanks to Connor Casparie, Spencer Deakin, Erik Hanus, Hunter Macdonald, Austin Dendl, Ben Coghlan, Brendan Rogers and Simon Creighton.

The Buccaneers have had a busy off season with lots of changes. The organization is looking forward to our Main camp Aug 23-25 at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. That will be followed by some home and away exhibition games including a home date with the PJHL Mission City Outlaws.

The season opener is Thursday, September 5 at the Pirate Ship (NIC) against the Oceanside Generals. Puck drop is 7:15pm.
