The 2016-17 hockey season has been another successful one for the Victoria Cougars.  For the seventh season in a row, we collected the league banner for finishing in first place during the regular season.  I compare that to a 48-game playoff.I would like to thank all our volunteers for the continued hard work in helping to make this season a memorable one.  It is with that commitment from our volunteers that allows us to move forward and continue to improve our program. It was hard to say goodbye to our graduating players but we do know that every one of them will succeed in any endeavor they put their mind to.  All are continuing on with their hockey career and their education.  We are also looking forward to our returning players coming back and getting the 2017-18 season started in the fall.I would like to thank our sponsors for supporting us again this past year and look forward to discussing our future plans and opportunities for your continued support. The Township of Esquimalt has been a pleasure to work with over the years and we thank them for their support.  We are approaching twenty years of making the Archie Browning Sports Centre our home.Thank you to all our fans that support us by coming out to our games and following us on our website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.  We want to make you proud that you are a fan of the Cougars. Our coaching staff headed by Suneil Karod continued to exemplify our commitment to player development and excellence.  We are appreciative of your efforts. And a special thank you to our billet parents.  We do know the effort required to have these boys in your homes for seven months.  The players and Cougars organization appreciate the commitment you all make.We are now getting ready for our next season and hope to see you all in the fall. George Linger
