Mitch Popp moves on to NCAA
- Submitted by

Mitch is from Milton, Ontario where played his minor hockey in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) with Milton Winterhawks, Brampton AAA, and Halton Hurricanes AAA. As 16 year old Mitch was recruited by Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills to play for their Gilmour Lancers Prep Boys Hockey Program that competes in the Midwest Prep Hockey League (MPHL). He excelled academically at Gilmour and was named team co-captain during his senior year. Upon graduating from Gilmour, Mitch decided to travel to B.C. to play in the VIJHL to further develop as a Junior hockey player with the goal of playing college/university hockey in the U.S. or Canada.

Mitch is very excited about his commitment to the Chatham University Cougars NCAA Division III Hockey program located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in February. He is enrolled in a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems. He cannot wait to participate in his first game as Chatham Cougar along with Chad Bell as a team mate.  He is an avid golfer, likes working out, and playing videos games with friends.

Special mention - Being a player from Ontario Mitch was very fortunate to have amazing billet families that helped him to be successful both on and off the ice.
